This fortnight we've come back from our vacation. I'm following on from the fortnight before we went away. So my top section on my meal plan I kept as is and tried to go off that for planning. Next fortnight however I want to make some changes as I'm just honestly bored! Bored with the food we have been having the last 6 months lol. Also warmer weather is coming and I want to start thinking about that too:)
For dinners this fortnight I (because I am feeling bored lol) planned for a lot of simple meat and salad/veg options where I had to buy meats to go on the plate rather than pulling meals from our freezer stockpile. . . also because my favorite Chicken Parcels from Coles were on special I wanted to include those and also try the beef parcels they have too!
My rule for setting a grocery budget is $70 per adult (persons aged 14yrs+ because we all know that teenagers eat as much as adults at this point!) and $50 per child (under 14yrs) in the household is the main grocery shop budget for a fortnight. I feel no matter where you are living in Australia - city, country or coastal states - it's a fair $ goal for your budget. For us that is $240 for the main shop in the first week. I then have a flat $70 for the top up shop in the second week of the fortnight. I base that off what ever I set per adult. So in total that is NORMALLY $310 for the fortnight for my family of 4.
So be sure to watch the matching grocery haul to see if I stay under budget !
