If you’re a VIP Lounge Member then you are very familiar with my fortnightly meal planning, main grocery shops and second week top up shops. What you normally see is the VIP only exclusive ‘Meal Plan With Me’ videos that go with the main grocery shops on the regular This Mum At Home You Tube channel. What I want talk about today though is how I plan for my second week top up shops.
If you are properly meal planning for your main grocery shop you should only need to return to the store if your main shop is for more than a week. (As a side note I always recommend shopping for a fortnight, financially this works out the best in comparison to a weekly or monthly shop where top up shops are concerned - more on that next week ) If your only shopping a main shop for one week and meal planning correctly, you should not need to go back to the grocery store ….. I hope that’s true for you!
Ok so if you are in need of doing a top up shop it is so important to treat it as though you are doing a main grocery shop. That means looking at your meal plan, buying only what’s necessary, working within your budget AND WRITING YOUR GROCERY LIST OUT ALONG WITH ESTIMATED PRICES.
In today’s video I’m going to show what steps I’ve taken before my top up shop. Although it may seem like a pointless task with minimal time, I promise following usual processes you would for a main grocery shop will pay off … especially where your budget is concerned!
Some tools I used to do my meal planning were:
