Who doesn't like Cordon Bleu? It’s a great classic but can be difficult to serve up when you have younger kids. So instead try serving in casserole firm is a great option!
.Ingredients: Serves 4
- 1kg x Diced Chicken Breast
- 150g x Shaved Ham
- 1x Cup Of Shredded Cheese
- 1x Tablespoon Of Chopped Parsley
- 75g x Butter
- 2x Tablespoons Of Minced Garlic
- 4x Tablespoons Of Flour
- 3x Tablespoons Of Dijon Mustard
- 2.5 x Cups Of Milk
- Bread Crumbs
- Salt & Pepper
- Square or round oven proof casserole dish
Method:
1. Preheat oven 200c.2. Cook your chicken in 1cm of water. I prefer water over oil where I can as it’s just a bit healthier and keeps meat a little more tender.
3. Whilst your chicken is cooking start making your sauce. Heat butter and garlic in a saucepan until butter is melted. Turn to a low heat and add flour. Whisk on a medium heat for around one minute. Then add milk and whisk through. Turn up heat and bring to the boil, continuing to stir so it does not burn. Immediately turn down heat once it starts to boil and thicken. Lastly whisk in the Dijon mustard and season with salt and pepper. Turn off heat and leave to stand for 5-10 minutes. It should be a white sauce consistency.
Serve with a side of vegetables.
